Workshop#1

Join a band

We will place you into a band based on your musical preferences and help you and your band members choose a name, write 3 songs and play 2 cover songs. Professional coaches will then mentor you through 12 two-hour rehearsal sessions (usually evenings ) in a Teen Rock Shop rehearsal studio, before getting you up on stage to perform your set live at a gig, in front of your friends and family. We organize everything and provide all the equipment, all you need to do is show up!

*Guitarists If you know your 1st position chords plus some bar chords and feel you can hold together a basic rhythm part then you will be fine. For those of you who spend 99% of the time improvising or copying solos it would be a good idea to brush up on your basic rhythm skills as your fellow band members will really appreciate this.

*Drummers should be able to play a simple rock rhythm

*Singers All are welcome here, standards vary and you can be supported in rehearsals and on stage by our 2 professional singers.

*Bassists As long as you know the fretboard you will be fine! Guitarists can be given a few conversion lessons if necessary – some people who joined Teen Rock Shop as guitarists are now very much in demand as bassists.

*We also welcome Keyboard players and other instruments.

Workshop#2

 Live Performance Coaching

 Always dreamed of strutting your stuff but have never done anything about it?
Come spend an afternoon (usually on a Sunday) making music.

Meet your band, learn your song, choose a band-name and perform for family and friends.

12 – 2pm Fire by Jimi Hendrix (Teens)
2 – 4pm Hotel California by The Eagles (Adults)

Individual workshops cost $40.00 for a 2 hour session (concert to follow), call (607) 222-9351 or email us  to book your place. Workshops take place at local venues.

This includes enrolment  and a discount card to use in the venue throughout your scheduled workshop time , 2 hr rehearsal session and a gig played to family and friends at the venue. All musical equipment will be supplied by Teen Rock Shop . Your band can then join our gig circuit where you will have the opportunity to play at the kidz4muzik festival.
We will be able to incorporate online payments into our website very soon, in the meantime we accept payment by check or bank transfer.
